There are two types natural graphite ore include crystalline graphite and amorphous graphite. The crystalline graphite is also called flaky graphite which belong to stratigical mineral list and it is a kind of battery mineral for lithium battery industry. Here we foucus on introducing our solution for crystalline graphite to make flaky grpahite concentrates by grinding and flotation processing. Owing to protecting flaky graphite during the processing, the multi-stage grinding and multi-stage flotaiton is the priority choice.

Adopt 3 stage crushing with closed circuit sieving system to make the gold ore below 12 mm or even blow 10 mm for reducing the power consumption of grinding stage.
Grate type ball mill is working as primary grinding mill and working together with the sprial classifer to obtain the particles with grinding fineness reach 0.2 mm with passing rate D90.
For protecting the large flake graphite, we recommend to use the multi-stage grinding and multi-stage flotaiton processing. The flotation cells should be pneumatic flotation machines which is with higher efficiency and all the flake graphite processing plants adopt flotation to imrpove its grade. The flotation process always use one time roughing, one time scavenging and 6 to 9 times cleaner.
The regrinidng mill should be impeller stirring mill. For obtaining the high purity flake graphite concentrate with fixed carbon content above 95%, the flotation and reginding process should be repeated for 5 times or even upto 8 times.
In the natural graphite multi stage flotation process porject, always to choose kerosene or diesel as a collector, # 2 oil or ＃4 oil as a foaming agent. For adjust the pH value to reacy 8 or 9, the lime or sodium carbonate should be added. If there are some minerals such as silicate minerals containing clay, quartz, mica and feldspar, it is necessary to add the silicate, dextrin, starch and cellulose to inhibit gangue minerals and disperse the slurry.
The concentrate and tailing slurry will be sent to the thickener for dewatering process and recover the water for recycle usage. The tailing slurry from the thickener can be pumped to the tailing pond directly. The concentrate slurry from the thickener will be sent to the cearmic disc filter for deeper dewatering process. The press filter or belt filter can also be adopted.
