Ghana 500 TPD Gold Tailings CIL Processing Project

Case site photos

Processing Way

Includes tailings feeding, screening, and thickening/conditioning to ensure stable slurry density and particle size for downstream processing.

Utilizes a series of interconnected CIL tanks for simultaneous cyanide leaching and gold adsorption onto activated carbon. Total designed leaching/adsorption time is 28 hours to maximize gold recovery.

A complete cyanide destruction unit is installed to ensure effluent meets environmental standards. An online monitoring system continuously tracks cyanide concentration and pH levels.

A closed-circuit grinding system with a primary ball mill and hydrocyclones to regrind tailings material to 85% passing 74μm, effectively liberating locked gold.

A pressure elution and electrowinning system processes loaded carbon to produce gold sludge. This is coupled with a gold refining system (smelting furnace) to produce high-purity gold ingots.

Leached tailings undergo deep dewatering via high-rate thickeners and filter presses to facilitate dry stacking, enhancing dam safety and environmental compliance.
