The concentrated iron ore undergoes smelting through the following steps:

• Loading the Blast Furnace: Iron ore (usually in the form of pellets or sinter), coke (a carbon-rich material), and limestone (a flux to remove impurities) are loaded into the blast furnace.
• Heating: The blast furnace is heated to very high temperatures (about 2000°C). Hot air is blasted into the furnace to burn the coke.
• Reduction: Coke reacts with oxygen to produce carbon monoxide, which reduces the iron ore into molten iron.
