Silicon based anode is one kind of composite anode material by compounding silicon based material with graphite materials. The current two major technical paths for silicon-based anodes are silicon-carbon composite materials and silicon-oxygen composite materials. Most of the silicon based anode manufacturer choose to outsourcing the high purity metal silicon or silicon-oxygen. The high purity silicon based material will be processed by crusher and jet mill to reach 1 micron with passing rate D 50. The main purpose of jet mill grinding is for reducing the feeding size of sand mill.
The wet type sand mill grinding system can transform high-purity silicon into nanoscale powder with size D50≤100 nm through multi-stage grinding. The silicon powder will be processed by the classification to get the qualified size powder and make the particle size distribution optimized and getting silicon particles with good particle morphology.
Then the nanoscale silicon powder will mixed with the graphite material in high speed fusion machine base on batch processing. For compounding nanometerized high-purity silicon and graphite particles through high-speed dispersions process to achieve the effect of embedding nanometer silicon particles into graphite particles. The addition ratio of silicon material is 5%-10%.
Using high-speed rotating spray drying equipment, the nanometerized high-purity silicon slurry is dried to form composite particles. And then the dries materials will be sent to the high speed fusion machine for seond compounding process with graphite material.
The composite material should be processed by two stage carbonization process. We recommend to adopt the roller kiln for cabonization treatment work. During the high temperature condition (Maximum 1200 degree), it make the coating material and silicon based material fused together and the coating material formed a shell to wrapping the silicon based materials.
The silicon based anode material from carbonization furnaces will be sent to the final product handling system which include deagglomeration, mixer, magnetic separation, sieving and packing system.The mixer is for mixing the multi batch final product before packing for ensure the stable property. Dry type high magnetic separator is specialy designed for removing the mechanical iron in ultrafine powder which generated during processing.
